Board members<\/h3>\n

The Finnish Naval Reserve board oversees the organization’s daily activities. According to the constitution of the association, the board consists of a chairman and 6\u201314 members that are elected in the annual meeting. Each of the board members must be a member in one of the membership associations of the Finnish Naval Reserve. The board’s term is for the time between annual meetings. Navy Command Finland, the Naval Training District of MPK (Meripuolustuspiiri) and the Naval Defence Foundation (Meripuolustuss\u00e4\u00e4ti\u00f6) may appoint their own representatives in the board with rights to attend and speak in the meetings.<\/p>\n

Liaison Officers<\/h4>\n

The Finnish Naval Reserve Liaison Officer Unit supports the Navy and other authorities by training reservists to serve as liaison officers, for example, in connection with international military exercises, naval visits and other events. A liaison officer is a job title and does not require the military rank of an officer \u2013 attitude, language skills and other competencies are what matter.<\/p>\n

The unit operates through the Finnish coast, divided into two regions. The unit keeps a list of reservists interested in liaison officer duties in the operating area of the member associations of the Finnish Naval Reserve and provides them with training and information on future tasks.<\/p>\n
